Working

I don't feel like working today. I just worked all last night. I am so sick of hungry rude customer.

Georgia

I just found out that my family has booked a flight to Georgia on Christmas day. Normally on Christmas my aunt and uncle from Georgia come to Michigan and stay at my grandmas house. All my cousins who are spread around the United States would come too. Well since my grandma passed away about 4 months ago they were just going to stay in Georgia. Well my uncle called the other day and my mom and him were talking. Ans my mom said that next year we are going to go down there for Christmas. Then my uncle said why wait till next year why not this year? So my mom and dad all of a sudden just booked a flight for my whole family to go to Georgia. Then flight is on Christmas day so its going to be one wild Christmas.

Ice rink

This weekend over at my friend Tony's house we are setting up an ice rink in his back yard. We tried to start the set up on thursday but it was way to cold. The ground was frozen solid and we couldn't get the boards to go in the ground. It was very frustrating. Also it was super cold out and and we were only out there for about an hour and i was freezing. Hopefully we can get the rink up this weekend when its a little warmer.

Scene Analysis

Schindler's List was a great film over a dark era in history. It shows the change of a selfish business man Oskar Schindler to a helpful almost saint like figure. Schindler in the beginning of the movie was only hiring Jews to work for him because, they would work for cheap and it saved him some money. Schindler was hard character to read you never really knew how we was feeling until one of the last scenes of the movie. Schindler's factory soon became the difference between life and death for many Jews. Many people wonder what made Schindler change his mind and start to lend a helping hand for Jews. Schindler had two responses, "I knew the people who worked for me. When you know people, you have to behave towards them like human beings." Schindler also gave the reason "There was no choice. If you saw a dog going to be crushed under a car, wouldn't you help him?"(Keneally). Schindler knew the predicament that the Jews were in, and its just human nature to help.

When you compare the book to the movie you can see some slight differences. The main difference that I picked up on was the movie tried to have a happy ending. There is no way that a movie over the holocaust should even come close to a happy ending. How could the death of about 6 million jews possibly end in happiness? I can't even begin to fathom the thought of a happy ending. The ending to the Holocaust will always be a gloomy subject and one that people will always see as horrible. This also shows how heroes arise in darkest moments. Schindler was a great man that gave up his own wealth for the salvation of saving Jewish lives.

Elie Wiesel

"Men to the left, Women to the right " the words spoken as Elie Wiesel got off the train with his family. The German guard just repeated the same eight words. What a nice way to welcome people by separating them from their families. These simple eight words were some of the last that people heard. I found it astonishing how when Elie and his Father were told by other Jewish prisoners to lie and say that there where e 18 and 40. That is the other reason that Elie survived. If he said he was 15 he would have been sent with the children to the death chambers because he was to young and weak to work. A simple white lie saved Elie life.

Having to stand in front of Dr. Mengele must have been terrifying. He is a very cruel man who committed some very gory experiments with Jews in the death camp. Having him ask questions must have been scary cause who knew why he wanted to know how old you were or if he wanted to take you with him to conduct some weird experiment. Elie seems to be a very brave and lucky man. His writing tries to shed light on what it was like arriving at Auschwitz. We will never really know what it was like to arrive at Auschwitz unless you actually did it.

Bio lab

Well this morning in my biology lab we had to dissect a pig. This was the first time that I have dissected a pig. I woke up this morning and decided to eat anything since i was going to be taking a pig apart. I figured eating just didn't seem like a good idea. That was my first mistake. I get to class and we get the little pig and we start to cut it open. all of a sudden i get light headed and start to get a head rush from the smell. Dizziness started to set in. Everyone said my face started to turn pale so i stepped outside from a moment. I started walking to the drinking fountain when all of a sudden my vision started to go blurry, I put my hand against the wall and sat down. My vision came back and some nice lady went and got me some water. After two minutes I started to feel a lot better. I walked to the vending machine and got some food and was fine for the rest of the class period.
